Default A Few Noob Questions...

I have a couple of general questions that I couldnt find in the FAQ.

1) From what I understand if I want to play Guild Wars and have both Prophecies and Factions I need to buy both games seperately? Factions doesnt include the orginal Guild Wars game right?

2) Is it better off to start off new with Prophecies or does it really not make much of a difference?

3) Is there and advantage in having both compaigns as opposed to just having Factions? Meaning if I buy Factions so that I have access to all of the classes...am I gonna be missing anything from the original game that I won't be able to get?

1) Each game is a "stand alone game". This means that they can be played seperately and by themselves. They have their own storyline and campaigns, their own seperate maps, and their own set of skills/items/armors.

Purchasing both gives you access to all the features of both games.

2) I would highly reccomend starting with prophecies. It's a much slower pace and the area in which you begin is perfect for first time players. Factions is more like a series of lessons you complete, but prophecies allows you to learn at your own pace and really explore the game before you move further on.

This is just my opinion, other people may differ.

3) Like I said each has their own set of skills/armor/missions/quests/maps... having both gives all your characters access to all of this.

Ok thanks...I guess that makes things a little easier for me.

One other question... I assume you can transfer characters between the two campaigns if you own both so that you can get the items/skills from both versions?

Also if I were to buy prophecies and make for example a War/N could I later on bring him into Factions when I do eventually buy it and change his secondary class to a Ritualist if I wanted to?

Yes to both of your questions. I took my Prophecies R/W into Factions and played the whole game with him. Made him a R/Rt and a R/A. Fun times.

I too recommend starting with Prophecies, there is more content and the core skills/builds are covered by it. Later you can add Factions, Nightfall (due in October), both or neither.
